The Urugal Empire on Amasu is governed by a system of noble households, or Houses, with one of them maintaining a position of ultimate authority as the Royal House. Badru is a son of House Rashidi with some familial connection to the Royal House. He worked with Initiative members to overcome 1000 years of bigotry against the Nefer-Ta and smooth the way for their reemergence into the world of Amasu.
